Anita O’Day, eine der großen Diven des Jazz, ist mit ihrem Timbre immer noch eine Klasse für sich. Marty Harris, ihr langjähriger Pianist, war eine Zeitlang auch in der Popmusik zu Hause. Über zehn Jahre begleitete er Diana Ross & the Supremes. Gerald Wiggins spielte mit vielen Größen der Jazzszene. Außerdem war er der langjährige musikalische Coach von Marilyn Monroe. Jack Lesberg pflegte eine Doppel-Karriere. Die klassische führte ihn u.a. mit Toscanini zusammen, die andere verbindet seinen Namen mit Bands von Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins und Sidney Bechet.Den großartigen Ton von David “Bubba” Brooks hörte man zunächst meistens nur in kleinen “jump bands”. Ab 1992 war er Mitglied bei “The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band”. Lawrence Lucie, der Senior, spielte bereits in den Formationen von Jelly Roll Morton und Fletcher Henderson. Tom Baker, Multi-Instrumentalist, galt bei Kritikern als junges Genie. Zu den meist beschäftigten Jazzmusikern in den USA zählt Dan Barrett. Ein Höhepunkt seiner Karriere ist das Mitwirken in der Band von Benny Goodman gewesen. Er spielte bei Woody Herman und begleitete Woody Allen auf dessen Tourneen. Seit mehreren Dekaden spielt und forscht Trevor Richards den klassischen Jazz. Frankie Manning tanzte bereits bei den Marx Brothers 1937 in A Day At The Races.

Anita O’Day, one of the great divas of jazz, is still in a class of her own. Marty Harris, her accompanist of many years’ standing, has also had dealings with pop music: he accompanied Diana Ross & the Supremes for over ten years. Gerry Wiggins has played with numerous stars of the jazz and entertainment world from Louis Armstrong to Marilyn Monroe.
Jack Lesberg maintained a double career: his classical training brought him together with Toscanini and in the jazz world he was associated with Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins and Sidney Bechet. The big tone of David “Bubba“ Brooks (1922-2002) was to be heard in his early career mostly in small “jump“ bands. He was a member of the Harlem Blues and Jazz Band from 1992. Lawrence Lucie, the senior member of the band, played in the bands of Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Fletcher Henderson.
Multi-instrumentalist Tom Baker (1952-2001) was acclaimed by critics as a young genius. Dan Barrett is one of the busiest musicians in the US today. He is proud to have been a member of the Benny Goodman Orchestra and has also played with Woody Herman and Woody Allen. Trevor Richards has been playing and researching classic jazz for many years. Frankie Manning danced in the Marx Brothers film A Day At The Races in 1937.
